そんな願いから、“isago”という名前のブランドは生まれました。
華やかすぎず、埋もれすぎず。
ほんのりとした上品さを、気負わずに身に着けられるように。
私が思い描く「美しいもの」は、いつも暮らしのすぐそばにあります。

isagoという名前に込めたこと
isago（いさご）とは、日本語で「細かい砂」を意味する言葉です。
はるかな昔、砂が集まって石になり、石が集まって岩になると信じられていたそうです。
小さな砂のように、一粒ずつ積み重ねていくものづくり。
やがて大きな岩となるその日を目指して、
自分の美しいと思うものを作り続けていきます。
日常の中のささやかな輝き。
誰かの心にそっと触れる、控えめな存在感。
そんなものを目指して、ブランド名にこの言葉を選びました。
「日常に寄り添う、上品さ」をかたちに
isagoのアクセサリーづくりでは、いつも「バランス」を意識しています。
派手さや奇抜さではなく、カジュアルな装いにも馴染む上品さ。
普段の服装にそっと溶け込むような、でも確かに気分を高めてくれる存在。
イヤリングやネックレスを身につけた瞬間、
「なんだか今日、少しだけ良い気分」
そんなふうに思ってもらえたら、何より嬉しいです。
異素材の美しさをつなぐ手仕事
使用している素材は、西陣織、ソウタシエコード、金糸、
スワロフスキークリスタルやタティングレースなど多種多様。
それぞれの素材がもつ光沢や質感の違いが、作品に奥行きを与えてくれます。
世界中の美しい伝統工芸、技術が手の中に集まり、
お互いを引き立て合いながら、ひとつの調和へと向かう――
そんなアクセサリーを目指しています。
とくに西陣織は、柄の取り方によって印象が大きく変わるため、
ほんの数センチの選び方にも緊張感があります。
同じ柄を再現するのは難しく、自然とすべてが一点ものになります。
コードの流れを計算しながら、糸の張り具合を調整し、
立体的にモチーフを仕上げていく。
この工程はまるで建築のようで、私はそこにも美しさを感じています。
すこしだけ、心がふわっとするようなものを
isagoのアクセサリーは、華やかに着飾るためのものではありません。
でも、ちょっと背筋が伸びたり、視線がすこし上を向いたり、
“自分にとってちょうどいい”気持ちになれるようにと願って作っています。
日常のなかで、ふと指先が触れるたびに、
「これ好きだな」と思えるような一片。
そんな存在になれたら、と思っています。
これからも、少しずつ、丁寧に。

A Fragment of the Beginning — The Story of isago
We wear T-shirts and jeans almost every day.
I wanted to add just a touch of sparkle to that ordinary daily life.
That simple wish is what gave birth to the brand “isago.”
Not too glamorous, not too plain.
Just a hint of elegance, worn with ease.
To me, true beauty is something that quietly resides close to everyday life.
The Meaning Behind the Name “isago”
“Isago” is a Japanese word that means “fine sand.”
Long ago, people believed that sand gathered to form stones, and stones gathered to form rocks.
Each tiny grain is a first step—
and one day, with time and care, it may become something greater.
In the same way, I want to keep creating the things I find beautiful, one by one.
Delicate sparkle in the midst of everyday life.
A quiet presence that gently touches someone’s heart.
That’s the kind of essence I wanted to capture in the name.
Creating Subtle Elegance for Daily Life
When designing isago accessories, I always think about balance.
Not showy or eccentric—but elegant, even with casual clothes.
Something that blends into your usual style, yet lifts your mood ever so slightly.
If wearing a pair of earrings or a necklace makes you feel,
“Today feels a little nicer somehow,”
then I couldn’t be happier.
Handcrafted Harmony of Diverse Materials
I use a wide range of materials in my work—
Nishijin-ori silk, soutache cords, metallic threads,
Swarovski crystals, and even tatting lace.
Each material has its own shine and texture,
and together, they give depth and nuance to the piece.
My aim is to bring together traditional crafts and techniques from around the world—
supporting one another in harmony,
becoming something even more beautiful through their connection.
Especially with Nishijin-ori, the impression changes drastically depending on how just a few centimeters are cut.
That small decision is always filled with tension.
It’s nearly impossible to recreate the same pattern twice,
so each piece naturally becomes one of a kind.
Carefully adjusting the tension of the cords,
calculating their curves and flow,
I construct each motif in a way that feels architectural.
There is beauty in that structure too.
Something That Gently Lifts the Heart
isago accessories aren’t made to stand out with extravagance.
But I hope they might help someone stand a little taller,
look up just a bit more,
or simply feel “this feels right for me” in their own way.
If, in the middle of your daily routine,
your fingers brush against a piece and you think,
“I really like this,”
then that means everything to me.
Little by little, with care and intention,
I’ll continue to shape isago—
and everything it can become.
